Weekday Religious Education is a released time Christian Education Program for public school students in the United States. The program is administered during school hours, but by law must be conducted outside school property. The objective of WRE is to help students become familiar with the Bible and to understand its influence on their lives. The program seeks to provide an environment where kids in the community will find love, positive influence, and a knowledge of God’s Word. Weekday Religious Education classes are offered in school districts in several states. The Lawrence County Program is offered one day each week during lunch period to Fourth Grade students in Unit 20 and to students in Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grades in Unit 10. Each student receives a backpack with Bible and t-shirt. Points are awarded for attendance, bringing their Bible, and class participation and are redeemed for prizes several times during the school year
